About
The Lochmaben Community Council is a local government body in Scotland that represents the interests of the Lochmaben community in compliance with statutory guidlines and in co-operation with the unitary Local Authority – Dumfries and Galloway Council. A copy of the guidlines can be found in our Resources.
It is made up of elected members who are chosen by the local residents to serve on the council.
The council works to promote the social, economic, and environmental well-being of the Lochmaben area and to ensure that the views and concerns of the local community are heard and taken into account by the larger governing bodies.
Some of the issues that the council may be involved in include planning and development, local services and facilities, community events and activities, and environmental issues.
